You should know what your money is actually doing
Most people end up with an advisor by default. Mill Creek is for people who would rather choose one on purpose.
The problem
Why people come to Tim
-
An advisor you did not choose
You opened an account at your branch, someone was assigned to you, and a few years later that person has moved on and you are explaining your situation from the beginning to somebody new.
-
Nobody holding the whole picture
Accounts in two or three places, a pension somewhere else, and no one looking at how they fit together or what they cost you.
-
Advice that answers to someone else
You do not know whether the advice you are getting is shaped by what the firm is selling that quarter.
Meet your guide
You shouldn’t have to guess about your money
If you ended up with an advisor you never really chose, that’s common. Most people inherit the arrangement they’re in, and over time it stops fitting.
Tim Ternosky is a CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER™ professional and Chartered Investment Manager (CIM®). He has been a licensed financial advisor since 2013 and opened Mill Creek Wealth Management on September 17, 2026. He graduated from the University of Windsor in 2013 with a Bachelor of Commerce, Honours Business Administration, earned his CFP® certification in 2025, and completed his CIM® designation in 2026.
Tim set Mill Creek up as an independent practice so his loyalty would be entirely with you, not with a corporate quota or a proprietary product menu. Large financial institutions often limit their advisors to a short list of in-house funds and a fixed service model. As an independent advisor, Tim can give you objective, personal advice and draw on tools and strategies from across the industry, fitted to what you and your family need. You also keep the same advisor throughout.
Tim has lived in Kingsville most of his life. He went to elementary and high school here, and in 2021, after his grandmother passed away, he moved back with his wife and kids to take over the family farm on Division Road.
When you leave a first meeting with Tim, he wants you to feel heard and understood, and confident that your finances are on a clear path.
“I help clients build long-term wealth through structured planning and evidence-based investment advice.”

What independent means
No parent bank, no product shelf
Mill Creek is independent. There is no parent bank, no in-house product shelf and no sales targets to meet. What you get instead is CFP®-level planning, CIM®-level investment management, and a long-term advisory relationship rather than transactional investment sales.
It also means one advisor rather than a rotating team. Tim builds the plan, manages the portfolio, and is the one you call.

How it works
The seven-step financial planning process
As a CFP® professional, Tim follows a structured, seven-step financial planning process with every client.
-
Establish and define the scope of the engagement
Before any planning starts, you and Tim agree on what the work covers, what each of you is responsible for, and what to expect from the relationship.
-
Gather information and set goals
Tim collects your financial details and the context around them, and helps you name and rank your goals.
-
Analyze and evaluate your current status
He looks at where you stand today and whether your current approach is enough to reach those goals.
-
Develop recommendations and create the plan
Tim builds strategies around your goals, aimed at the gaps the review turned up.
-
Present the financial plan
He walks you through the plan, including the assumptions behind it and the reason for each recommendation, so you can decide with the full picture.
-
Implement the plan
Together you put the recommendations you approve into action, and each step has a named owner.
-
Monitor and review
Tim tracks your progress and updates the plan when your life, your goals or the markets change.

What changes
The difference a plan makes
-
Without a plan
- Accounts in different places, doing different things.
- No one certain who is watching the whole picture.
- Decisions made on whatever the news is that week.
- “Where do we actually stand?” answered with a shrug.
-
With a plan
- One plan covering retirement, tax, estate, cash flow and risk.
- One advisor who already knows the history.
- Decisions made to a process, not a headline.
- A clear answer to where you stand, whenever you want it.

Book an introductory meeting
What happens in the first meeting
An introductory meeting takes about 30 minutes. You leave with a clear view of your current position, what a plan would look like, and whether working together makes sense. There is no cost and no obligation either way.
